Indigenous Milk Medicine Week
August 8–14
Sponsored by the Indigenous Milk Medicine Collective, Indigenous Milk Medicine Week (formerly known as Native Breastfeeding Week) was created to showcase the richness of Indigenous milk medicine traditions.
This year’s theme — “From the Stars to a Sustainable Future” — ties milk medicine to the Earth, its elements and the heavens and ancestors. Through breast/chestfeeding, Indigenous families promote health, community, environment, and traditions that foster a sustainable future.
